Breaking Cover (Life Lessons #2) release

Man, I’m more nervous about this one than I’ve ever been. I guess the free books were low-risk. If someone didn’t like one, well, they hadn’t lost any money on it. And Life Lessons was just a total unknown. (That didn’t keep me from having an anxiety attack over the page proofs and all the things I could no longer fix, but it limited the fall-out.) This book seems to have more expectations attached. I hope people enjoy it.

Breaking Cover will be available tomorrow Friday July 22, from MLR Press ( http://www.mlrbooks.com/books.php ) and the usual other sources.

I’ve also put And to All a Good Night out on Amazon. I debated over that, because there is no way to do it for free. The lowest price is $0.99 which is what I set. They sometimes discount to free, but you can’t request that. I decided there might be readers who don’t know to look elsewhere than the big retailers for an authors’ work. (I didn’t for a long time.) Some of them might find it worth the dollar to read these things in order. Hopefully that’s cheap enough no one will get mad if they later find out it was available for free elsewhere. (I get $0.34 for each copy sold, so I’m not doing it as a money-maker.) So hopefully all will go well. I’m going to bury myself in werewolves and a short I’m writing and not think about it for a while.

  1. I can’t wait for Breaking Cover to come out I have been checking MLRpress site every day. Now I will have something exciting to read over the weekend. I meant to comment regarding your earlier post on the ratings on All Romance’s website. I found you book from a comment on AfterElton.com so you never know where your fans may show up.

    Have a great day!

  2. Thanks. I’ll have to check out AfterElton. I wasn’t on the Internet much before venturing into publishing my work, and there all kinds of cool sites out there.

    • Thanks for the encouragement. MLR Press usually has the paperback out about two weeks after the e-book, so it should be available in ten days or so. Amazon and other retailers get the books a few days later. The address for MLR’s website is in my blog above. That’s not a link (haven’t got that working yet), but if you click on the cover picture for Breaking Cover there is a link there that will take you to the MLR page.
I love paper books too, still buy a lot of them.

        • Wow, my kind of reader. Seriously, I’m thrilled that you like these enough to want to reread. I’m big on rereading favorites, and I also buy paper a lot for that reason.

  4. I am trying to buy Breaking Cover. Is there anywhere besides MLR I can buy it. They only use PayPal and I hate paypal. They are always demanding that I give them my bank account info. When will it be released to ARE? Thanks Lori

      • Sorry it was so difficult. The book should be out on Amazon and All Romance E-books and so on fairly soon, but they take a few days to get the new titles up. (Not sure how long, actually; I’m still new to this whole process. I’ll have to ask. Less than 2 weeks, for sure.) I’m really flattered that you went to this much trouble instead of waiting. Hope you like it!

    • I have a third book written, although I’m doing some serious editing to fix some plot issues. (I know what happens next for the guys, but the murder not so much.) Right now I have a couple of other books just starting the editing process, so those will probably be out before Life Lessons #3.
